About Us

The Friends of Robert Burns Birthplace Museum is a National Trust for Scotland friends group created in 2013 to support the “Robert Burns Birthplace Museum” located in Alloway, near Ayr, in South Ayrshire, Scotland.

We are a registered charity – check out the ‘Our Documents’ page for full details and a copy of our constitution and past Trustee reports and accounts.

We aim to support a range of important developments for this very special National Trust for Scotland property and its staff in every way possible, principally by fundraising for projects.

With over 60 volunteers working alongside the excellent staff at the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, we have a growing programme of events during the year, in which great fun is had by all – including our visitors as well of course! Check “Our programme” page for more details.

We also raise money by running a Garden Shop in the old ticket kiosk in the beautiful Monument Gardens.

We are always in need of volunteer help in a wide range of areas including staffing the shop, donating plants and other items such as plant pots, labels and other plant equipment. If you can help, please contact us via the Museum staff or by leaving a message us a message on this website.

Please feel free to contact us via info@friendsofrbbm.org.uk – your message will be forwarded to one of our trustees.
