Characteristics
- Mature tree can reach 30m high with drooping branches.
- White bark sheds layers like tissue paper.
- Leaves: light green, small triangular with toothed edge. Yellow in autumn
- Flowers: Female and male flowers in same tree from April to May. Male catkins are long and yellow-brown and hang in groups. Female catkins are smaller, short and bright green.
